When shopping for your next enclosed trailer, here are a few questions to ask before making your purchase.
This is mostly preference, but you will need to decide between an steel enclosed trailer or a aluminum enclosed trailer. While aluminum trailers are lighter, they are also slightly higher in price point, which also means they have a higher resell value. Both will require maintenance to ensure structural integrity and prevent rusting.
This decision is based on how much space you want. The V-nose enclosed trailer does tend to have a slight amount of extra interior area and tends to perform better in high wind conditions. A common misconception is that the V-nose trailers get better gas mileage, while in reality both varieties are relatively the same when it comes to your MPG. The most aerodynamic shape is actually a rounded front, similar to aircraft noses.
Different styles of doors are available for different purposes. The ramp door is very helpful if you will be driving something, like an atv, car, or snowmobile, onto the trailer. If you are looking to haul cargo, then barn doors will be provide slightly more interior space.
